Fern can make a small magic barrier that is 5 feet wide. The barrier can be penetrated, if the person trying to break it is persistent. The barrier does not work against strong beings, such as gods or giants. It can be done 11 times a day, with a 30 minute break in between. She can also conjure fireballs that cause minor burns if thrown at a person. This can be done 6 times a day, with a 1 hour break in between. 3 fireballs are conjured up each time she uses it.

Biography:
Fern was abandoned on the streets when she was 5, because her father didn't want a child. She was found by a girl, Ciara, who was 9. Ciara took care of Fern and was like an older sister to her. One day, a hellhound found them. They survived, and were found by a curious nymph. The nymph realized they were demigods, and took them to a school where a satyr she knew was. The satyr found them when the school ended, and took them to Camp Half-Blood.

She managed to talk her way out, since she was good at getting out of tough situations. She told her father, who immediately called Camp Half-Blood to take her in.
