The Cabin Courtyard

Annalise walked into the Cabin Courtyard, wondering when her life would get interesting. Sure, she was a demigod. But, she was used to it. She sighed, slumping down onto a bench.

Amelia walked int to the courtyard. She tried hard not to blink because when she does she sees her "pere's" cold, stone face.

Annalise looked up, hearing the grass rustle under somebody's feet. She saw a girl, probably about her age. "Hi!" she said, cheerfully. She put on her mischievous smile. "I'm Annalise, daughter of Hermes."

The blonde girl looked up to see another girl, "Salut, j'em appelles Amelia, mon pere c'est Zues," she facepalmed her self,this isnot france. she thought, "I mean, I Amelia,"

"Daughter of?" Annalise asked, letting her smile fade. She dragged a foot across the ground, averting her gaze from Amelia. She was hopeless at French.

"Cool!" Annalise exclaimed, perking up again. She brought back her smile, turning her gaze back to Amelia. "That's rare."

"Devil?" Annalise asked, momentarily confused. Then, realization dawned upon her. "Oh, you mean Hades. Well, I guess it's crowded." The child of Hermes had no idea, since she had never been to the Hades cabin before.

"Well... maybe." Annalise shrugged, not knowing whether to agree or disagree. She fiddled with the hem of her yellow top, having a silent debate with herself on what to say.

Annalise blushed, too; she hadn't meant to embarass Amelia. "Oh, sorry," she said. "I thought you were speaking Spanish." She tried for her smile. Idiot! she scolded herself.

"Yeah, but I got confused. Sorry," Annalise apologized. She started playing with the hem of her top again, wishing she were smarter. Children of Athena got it off easy.

"Thanks," Annalise said. For a friendly girl, she was bad at conversations. She looked at her hands, before looking up again. "So, what's your backstory?" she asked, wincing at the word "backstory".

Annalise tried to look nonchalant by shrugging. "Well, I lived in San Francisco. Mum was rich, but I had a bad rep. She got blamed a lot for it, so she took to alcohol when she got stressed. Then, she started being mean to me, so I ran away."

Annalise didn't answer, but played with a strand of brown hair. "So, how long have you been here?" she asked, veering away from the topic of backstories.
